Kay Rosen

Kay Rosen is a Texas-born, Indiana-based artist whose work uses language as its imagery. She has exhibited extensively in the United States, as well as in Great Britain, France, Switzerland, Germany, Italy, The Netherlands, Greece, and Australia. Her work was the subject of a 25-year survey exhibition at the Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA) and Otis College of Art and Design in Los Angeles in 1998-99. She has also had solo shows and large-scale commissions at The Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago, MASS MoCA in North Adams, Massachusetts, The Aspen Art Museum, Witte de With in Rotterdam, and The Whitney Museum as part of the 2000 Whitney Biennial, among others. She has received three National Endowment for the Arts Fellowships. Feature length articles on Rosen have appeared in Artforum (+ cover), Art and Text, and Art in America. Rosen teaches at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
